Field Leadership Training Program at ABC Institute

What is the Field Leadership Training Program?

Our field leadership program is for recently promoted crew leaders, foremen, supervisors, or anyone else in management for a construction company. It covers basic leadership skills and will teach students about different leadership styles, effective communication, delegating tasks, and problem-solving. Our goal is to help our students gain the skills they need to manage entire projects from start to finish. Running a project construction successfully includes juggling multiple tasks, like communicating with your crew members, managing deliveries of materials, scheduling workers, and numerous other important tasks. You’ll learn all of that and more in our program. Students in the programs must already have completed an OSHA 10 certification.

What Do Students Learn in the Program?

Through the eight courses required in our foreman training program, our students learn to effectively manage and run a construction site, keeping the project on track from start to finish. We offer this program at our two campus locations in South Florida. The program covers a range of topics from leadership skills to all the nuances of managing a project. We believe that our students learn best from a combination of classroom and hands-on learning, which is why we incorporate both into all our programs. The program will require three, eight-hour days to fully complete. Program graduates can expect to learn about the following:

  • Job site safety
  • Project planning
  • Scheduling
  • Estimating

Why Is This Program Important?

No matter what line of work you are in, nothing is accomplished without effective leaders. In construction projects, foremen and supervisors take on the leadership role, acting as the link between the crew and the company heads. Without a proper chain of command, communication will be lacking, and tasks will not be completed on time. For this reason, our construction leadership training programs are of the utmost importance. When you enroll your newly promoted workers into our programs, they will come out more confident, decisive, and ready to lead their crew to success. This will in turn make your entire company more successful as you are able to take on more projects with the confidence that your team lead will complete them on time.

Course Requirements

Our leadership training program requires three, eight-hour days to complete, and will cover eight different courses in that time. The three sessions will be scheduled to take place over a three-week period, with one class per week. Each session will cover numerous topics until all eight sections are covered in detail. If you’re interested in enrolling in one of our courses, please check out our course schedule to view available dates and locations. Key Benefits of Our Program

The key benefit of our program is its ability to produce effective leaders that will help your company succeed. Promoting from within your company is the best way to build employee loyalty. Our program gives you the ability to promote a current crew member to leadership positions and then provide them with the training they need to handle their new responsibilities. This means you won’t have to hire an outside individual for the job and train them on your company’s policies. Not to mention, it shows your employees you want to invest in them and their future with the company.
