South Florida & Space Coast Construction Education and Training. The ABC Institute is the 501(c)3 education and training arm of Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast Chapter (ABC), which is part of a national trade association and a network of 70 chapters and 21,000 member companies. Since 1950 we have been working to attract and retain a quality construction workforce. At ABC Institute, we invest over $1.8 million dollars locally each year to construction education and training.

We Focus on Our Community

The ABC Institute offers the most diverse, affordable and high-quality classes, apprenticeships, and other programs in South Florida and the Space Coast. Many of our classes are available online as well. We equip you with the tools you need to work at a high level and produce quality results for the betterment of the community you build. We also offer veteran training services and work with community partners like the Boys and Girls Club, ACE Mentoring, Employ Miami-Dade and local high schools to help recruit an able and skilled workforce of tomorrow.

Our Mission

Achieve Your Career Goals in South Florida & The Space Coast, To develop and improve education and training in the construction industry at all levels.

The passionate pursuit of our mission has to lead the ABC Institute to not only develop the industry’s most broad array of approved apprenticeship standards and programs (9 different trades) but also the industry’s most innovative outreach and entry-level programs like Ready, Set, Build ®, Construction Introduction, and Right Fit ®.

We also partner with local high schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, ACE Mentoring, Employ Miami-Dade and numerous other community organizations to make sure the benefits of a career in construction are enthusiastically promoted.

Our commitment doesn’t end at recruitment and craft training. We also have construction management student chapters at more than 50 colleges and universities throughout the country in which they compete in an annual CM Competition and career fair. We hold one of the industry’s largest annual national craft championships, provide scholarships, webinars, skills assessment, Project Management Institute, journeyman and master prep classes and all forms of safety education.
